The project, conducted in partnership by the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijić" of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Cultural Center "Vuk Karadžić" (Loznica), focuses on old folk sports, games, and competitions. These sports represent a neglected aspect of intangible cultural heritage currently at risk of complete extinction.

The project includes educational workshops in elementary schools designed to transfer knowledge of traditional sports and games to younger generations and lay the foundation for their revitalization and preservation. These workshops feature lectures by experts from diverse fields (including geography, ethnology, sports and physical education) and the organization of outdoor competitions. All workshops are interactive, encouraging children's active participation through discussion and physical exercises.

A special part of the project involves the implementation of a survey of adults (18+) and children, workshop participants, to examine attitudes and knowledge about old folk sports and games, and understanding of cultural heritage (tangible and intangible).

Specific outcome of the project is a scientific monograph on old folk sports and games, authored by Dr. Željko Bjeljac and Dr. Jovana Brankov, which is available at the following link: Book99
